Masseria Battifarano - Cantine Cerrolongo

They are regular espaliers-fan training of about 3,50 m. of altitude with a system order of 4,50m x 3,50m for a total of40 ha, on lands of medium melted mixture with a slight preponderance of clay.

Our orchards are composed by:

• Citrus fruit (Citrus), Washington Navel, Valencia, Clementine, Limon
• Apricot tree (Prunus armeniaca), Portici and Lady Elena
• Pear tree (Pyrus communis), Etrusca
• Peach tree (Prunus persica), different kinds (about 22 cultivars)
• Plum tree (Prunus domestica), Chino-Japanese plums: T.C: Sun, October Sun and Globe Sun
• Nectarines (Prunus lewiis), different kinds (about 7 cultivars)

From a granulometric point of view these lands are mainly clayey and have a not bad degree of fertility due to the particular combination between their chemical-physical features. The percentage of limestone is not high and the PH presents values below 8. These features constitute the ideal conditions for an efficient intensive peach-growing, mainly concentrated in Cerrolongo.
